DOLL MAKING WORKSHOP SAT 17th Jan 10-1. at Old Sharrow Junior School. Ursula Mathers ran a doll making workshop with the intention that the
attendees could see several examples of Steiner/Waldorf dolls and get ideas for
making their own (for their children??!). It was a really well attended
and we had a truly lovely time sharing ideas and skills. Many of us
achieved quite a lot and got a doll well underway, some even finished
theirs!!!! Many brought children some of whom played beautifully in the
hall and some joined in with the doll making. Their were delicious home
made cakes and herbal and organic teas to refresh ourselves when the going got
tough. Pictures of finished dolls would be appreciated if anyone has
them. Email them to erica@sevenhills.org.uk
and I'll put them on the site. CANDLEMAS
Nether Edge Farmers Market Sunday 21st September 12 noon to 4pm
We had a stall at Nether
Edge's 3rd Farmer's Market
& Autumn Fair on Nether Edge Road and Glen Road, We set up a tent and working/crawling (for babies) area and got to work on our craft activities. The weather was very kind to us. We had a few Steiner inspired toys for sale, but it was mainly a promotional exercise. We met a few friendly, interested folk and lots of children came to make things. We made leaf rubbing wall hangings using beautiful beeswax crayons over cloth which we then hung from sticks using hemp twine, and using the same twine and more twigs we made nature mobiles by hanging selections of pine cones, shells, feathers and rose hips. I think the children who made them will agree that they were satisfying to make and beautiful to behold! |
