Seven Hills minutes from 24.09.2008 Who was there: Alys, Kath, Erica, Darren, Kay, Bo, Federica, Janine, Andrea and Matt Meeting started with the apology from the people who were not able to attend the meeting. (Andreas, Frida, Ursula...). The first thing on the agenda was Available Funding. There is a potential financial help available from Tintagel Trust and Freeman College based on the fact that we will have: charity status, a bank account and signatories, a board of Governors (council), a treasurer. So far we have managed this: Kath Bransby and Jenny Owen volunteered to be the chairs. Erica, Federica and Jean Bransby kindly volunteered to take on a role of a treasure. Alys is going to send a letter to Freeman College to obtain the relevant information regarding charitable status. Alys has also sent a cheque to Fellowship. This means we have become a member of Steiner Fellowship. A board of Governors (council) still remains on the agenda for the next meeting. As long as you have an interest in developing Steiner education in Sheffield you can step forward and become the member (you don’t need to be the parent). (We mentioned that one of the people could be Andreas – so think about it please and let us know). Obtaining resources
from Freeman College Delivery of Kindergarten toys: Based on the contract with Freeman College we are going to get some toys from Merlin Kindergarten. Freeman College offered to deliver the toys and Erica agreed they can be delivered to her house. Organising Eurhythmy tuition: Alys will get in touch with Freeman College regarding eurhythmy sessions. Expansion of Parent
and child group Our Longshaw group has expanded. Last Monday we had 25 children (plus babies and Aly’s class). We need to start another P&CH group in Sheffield. Alys mentioned that Sharrow school is available all week (apart from Tuesday and Wednesday when she has got classes in there). We are going to check the availability at Longshaw (Alys) and Heeley Institute (Janine). We still need people who are willing to lead the other P&Ch group!!! Erica volunteered to do it on Wednesday so if you are willing to help get in touch with her... State fundind –
kindergarten set up Kath already found out some things regarding setting up a kindergarten. She found a venue in Hathersedge – Scout hut, Baulk Lane. It is located 5 minutes walking from the train station. This building has got great location in lovely surroundings and the caretaker is very open to Steiner education. The building is not rented at the moment and we could have 5 mornings for £100 pw and 5 whole days for £200 pw . For the future: the building has got planning permission for extension. They need £100.000 funding to do this. If we share funding with them we can have rent free building “forever”. Kath will look into what we need to set up a kindergarten. She will get in touch with Derbyshire county council about childcare business and she will obtain EYFS curriculum as well. Next meeting might be possible in Longshaw. We will send an email around when the date and location will be decided. |
